I have been dating Venus year and a couple of months now. But, I haven't really posted a blog about her up until this point. Part of it is that I really don't blog much any more. The other part of it is that I am really happy and don't have anything to complain about. :)
So, for those of you who don't know her, let me describe her. Venus is a graduate student in Arts Administration from Taiwan. Her undergraduate degree is in Theatre. She doesn't really like acting though. She did more of the promotion stuff. She's very intelligent and funny. She's also extremely beautiful.
As a Theatre major, the most important thing she learned is how to be very weird. This is an important quality in a girlfriend, or at least it is for me. I know some of you are thinking that Venus can't possibly be weirder than me. But, trust me, she can. She had professional training abroad. It is an unfair competition.
Another great thing about Venus, is that (in her words) she has a very low "haha point". This means that she is easily entertained by jokes that others would find kinda lame. This is another great quality to have in a girlfriend. We have a ton of inside jokes that we laugh about every day. Other people tend to look at us and talk about how strange we are. It is great.
A few words about Taiwan... Taiwan is the country almost everything electronic claims to be made in. Though, most of the time, the stuff that says "Made in Taiwan" is actually made in factories in mainland China. The most important things that were actually made in Taiwan are Venus, and Bubble-milk Tea. Bubble-milk tea is the greatest drink on earth. Anyway, China thinks that Taiwan belongs to it. Taiwan disagrees, and most likely secretly thinks China should belong to it. Much silliness ensues. For example, Taiwanese people traveling to mainland China have to have a passport (issued by Taiwan) and some kind of traveling papers issued by China. The Chinese get mad if you show them your Taiwanese passport, and the Taiwanese get annoyed if you give them your Chinese traveling papers. The Taiwanese government is really corrupt. Or at least their ex-president and his family are all in prison for being corrupt. But it seems like a really cool place other than that.
Anyway, Venus is also a really good cook. She can make Chinese food, of course, but she has also learned to cook a lot of really good desserts. Ironically, her dad tells her no one would want to marry her because her cooking is bad. Sometimes I tell her "That food was really great. I wouldn't even not marry you because of your cooking." Sadly, this joke got old after the first 100 times I used it.
Venus is graduating this term. That may complicate things a bit. But, I'm confident that her and I will find a way to make everything work. I love her very much. :)
